| New Wine Web Specials Prices good from February 22nd through March 7th. Very nice wines this week at bargain prices! 1. Toasted Head Merlot 2004 750 mL - The art of blending played an important role in creating this excellent Merlot. Blending is used to develop complexity by adding layers of complementary flavors. Building on the fresh berry aromas of the Merlot, a slight dose of Malbec lends a bit of anise seed, dried fruit, and plum. A small percentage of Petite Sirah matches well with Merlot, contributing raspberry and blueberry, which intensifies the rich berry flavors of the wine. An incredibly rich Merlot, amazing for this price. Regular Price: $ 13.99 Web Specials Price: $ 9.99 You save $ 4.00 a bottle! 2. Longwood The Sheep Shearer Shiraz 2005 750 mL - Kathy and I tasted this earlier this week and we're very impressed by this Shiraz from Australia's famous McLaren Vale region. Wine writer Robert Parker liked as well, giving it 91 Points. Robert Parker's Notes: "A terrific bargain, the 2005 Shiraz The Shearer's deep ruby/purple color is followed by peppery, blueberry, blackberry, licorice, and dried herb aromas. Dense, rich, layered, thick, and juicy, it is no shy wine at 15.2% alcohol, but it is very well balanced." - 91 POINTS! Regular Price: $ 14.99 Web Specials Price: $ 10.99 You save $ 4.00 a bottle! 3. Bleasdale Shiraz / Cabernet Sauvignon Langhorne Crossing 2004 750 mL Robert Parker's Notes: "A superb value, the 2004 Shiraz/Cabernet Sauvignon Langhorne Crossing (61% Shiraz and 39% Cabernet) exhibits a dark plum hue as well as a big, sweet bouquet of jammy cherries, spicy background oak, and hints of licorice and herbs. Consume this deep, medium-bodied, surprisingly long red over the next 2-3 years." Regular Price: $ 10.99 Web Specials Price: $ 8.99 You save $ 2.00 a bottle! 4. Concannon Pinot Gris Limited Release 2005 750 mL - A great Pinot Grigio at a great price! Wine Enthusiast's Notes: "Entirely produced in stainless steel from this long, cool vintage, the wine shows how lusciously ripe PG can get. Few wines in the world can achieve these enormous levels of pineapples, limes, apricots, mangoes, peaches, apples, wild tropical flowers and vanilla. There's a trace of residual sugar, but the acidity is high, which combined means that the finish is slightly sweet, but beautifully crisp and clean." Regular Price: $ 12.99 Web Specials Price: $ 9.99 You save $ 3.00 a bottle!
